Hojo Motor Scam
The “Hojo motor” is, according to the claims of those marketing it, a device to produce free energy and get you off the grid forever. It’s according to the work of designer Howard Johnson, who actually developed numerous patented advances in magnet-powered engines. The patents are real, and Johnson’s inventions are certainly real, but the claim that you can obtain free energy from magnets by using them in a particular configuration to power a generator is completely false.
The Hojo motor is based on the idea of the permanent magnet generator, then there is certainly no problem with this strategy. Magnet motors are one of the major elements in an electricity – generating windmills.. However, in all legitimate situations, the magnet motor simply changes power from one form to another one; the energy features a source, and does not come from the magnets them selves. In the case of the windmill, the energy comes from the wind. The wind flow moves a rotor, that turns a generator, which generates electrical energy.
So where does the energy come from that the marketers of the Hojo motor would have you believe can power your home for free? The only visible source of power inside the designs stands out as the magnets by themselves. These magnets are just stored power not an ongoing power. Usage of magnets to be able to power an electrical generator, without any exterior source of energy, leads to the magnets to run-down and shed their power after a while.
Right now, our planet gets energy from 3 sources: solar power, fossil fuels and nuclear plants. Direct solar power is obviously the sun’s energy, and powers not only solar power properly named but power from the wind and hydroelectric power. Fossil fuels are what we call the stored solar power, since they come from the dead trees that have stored sunlight power. Once the material is used up, the saved sunlight is released in usable form. Nuclear reactions come from the fission of heavy metals. This is actually the source not just of nuclear energy but additionally of geothermal energy, as the high temperature with the Planet’s interior is about 80% due to nuclear reactions from heavy metals in the Earth’s crust.
There are indeed sources of “free” energy: solar power and wind power. But solar and wind power, although free, do not come from nothing. They are available from the sun’s heat, and in a really true sense are not “free of charge,” instead, the sun alone pays off the price for them in their extravagant usage of hydrogen for nuclear fusion. Magnets, unless powered by the wind (or some other energy source), do not serve this purpose. They do not provide free energy.
Should you conduct a research on-line for “green energy” or “free energy” or “magnet power” chances are you will see a link for the on-line entrepreneur that supplies the plans for that Hojo motor for around $50. The ads prominently feature the three patents that Howard Johnson earned for his motor design, and make extravagant claims that for a few hundred dollars in materials and a few hours of time, you can produce enough energy to power your home forever, free of further cost.
You must not be misled by these types of adverts. To replicate Johnson’s work would require an enormous amount of money and time, not just a few hundred dollars and a few hours, and even then you would have only an improved design for an electric motor, not a way to generate free energy forever.
