We did a week on Kauai. Even staying at a resort, with room service, poolside service, rental car, airfare, light shopping and other expenses… the whole thing cost us around $5K. If you’re able to cut out the hotel, which is often the most expensive part, go grocery shopping and cook most your meals, I can see it being done for just a couple thousand.

Oh yes! Hawaii rocks! We are going there for our honeymoon! We went in 2005….loved every minute of it. We stayed on the big island…. mainly stayed in Kailua-Kona, but ventured to Hilo to see live lava flow. Hot suff! Anyway, food was not expensive (many of my friends said it would be, but they stayed in waikiki). Not including the 1500.00 we spent on airfare and 1800.00 on the condo, I’d have to say that we spent about $800 for 8 days. Not too bad! Congrats!

of course we sepnt tons of money while there. its expensive but so much fun!!!

we have also visited the island of ohau since my husbands best friend used to live there. we stayed with him both times we visited there and saved tons of money that way.

cost all depends on what you want to do

If you have a condo , you could cook some days there and that reduces the cost of eating out to an extent..and then everything depends on what activities you want to do there…
if its just relax and dip in beaches wld not cost you much….

We went to Maui for our honeymoon and I have been there lots of other times. It can be very expensive if you want it to be. But if you’re staying in a condo, you’ll be able to make your meals there, which will really save on money. We decided to go all out when we went this last time. We were there for two weeks and we spent approximately $10/$12k on it all. But we did a lot of shopping and ate at really expensive restaurants. We also saved up for the trip for a year.
Hawaii is beautiful and very romantic. You’ll love it!

It can be very expensive. Food and activities are more there than in the mainland, but if you have your condo for free you should be able to manage. Hopefully you can. It’s the greatest place.
